We will continually add further scores from our printed catalogue to the Henle store. If you are waiting for your favorite one to appear, please let us know by emailing wishlist@henle-library.com. We might be able to bring forward its publication.
We recommend the PageFlip Cicada and Firefly pedals. In general, all Bluetooth pedals that can replicate an arrow left/arrow right or arrow down/arrow up keystroke should work with the app. If you want to use the double tap feature for going back to the beginning of repeats in scores, your pedal should support double taps. Unfortunately that does not yet seem to be the case with the popular Airturn Duo pedals. Sometimes it can take a few seconds for the app to recognize the pedal.
The credit system allows for greater flexibility in pricing. It offers two advantages to our users: You can save up to 25% by purchasing a bigger bundle of credits. Secondly, you can buy very short pieces for a very small amount of credits that, below the lowest in-app-purchase tier.
10 Credits are about 1€ / 1$. However, they become cheaper, as you buy more of them. For example, 1,000 credits cost only 75$ and not 100$.
The app is offered in English, German, Chinese, Japanese and Korean. If your device is set to one of these languages, then the app will automatically be displayed in this language. Otherwise, the default language is English. However, iOS also determines language preferences by considering past languages used on your device. You can temporarily set your iPad language to one of the languages above and then set it back to another language. The app will then be displayed in the language that you had set temporarily.
This is a bug that rarely occurs, when the app is restored on a new or different device. Please delete the app once from your device and re-install it from the App Store or the Google Play store. After signing in, you should then be able to download all of your scores and annotations.
Any printer that supports AirPrint should work with the app.
The app uses the existing memory of the device to create a file that will then be printed. On older devices and with larger scores it can happen that not enough memory is available. Unfortunately, the app then crashes without warning. If this happens, please close any other apps that are open and try again.
In the settings menu in the score viewer you have the option to print your scores. On Android devices you automatically have the option to print as PDF. On iOS devices you will see a print preview. If you try to zoom in on the preview (two-finger-pinch), the system will create a PDF that you will be able to export.
All of the scores you have purchased and all of the annotation layers are stored in the cloud. Once you have downloaded them to your device, they are stored there, too. You can access scores and annotations on your device at any time, even if you do not have an Internet connection. Annotations that you have changed on a different device will be downloaded to your current device when you open the score. A prompt will ask you whether you would like to do so or not.
You can “delete” the score, which means that the score, annotations and recordings will be deleted from your device but saved to the cloud. You have to download the score again if you want to use it, but you do not have to purchase it again. In order to delete a score, go to your library and swipe left on the chosen score. The entry will then be grey and a cloud symbol will appear on the right side. Whenever you want to download it again, tap on the cloud symbol.
Yes. Just choose this feature in the score settings menu.
Yes, but the person you want to share them with must have purchased and downloaded a copy of the same score to be able to access them.
Swipe to the left on the title of the annotation layer or the recordings. A “delete” button will appear. Unless you delete them, annotations and recordings will always be stored with your score in the library and in the cloud. They will even be available in the cloud should you have “deleted” the score on your device.
No. It is only deleted in that annotation layer. When you switch to “Original score” in the annotation menu, it will still be there.
In order to give you the greatest possible flexibility with the layout – adding space between staves and changing the margins – we have had to restrict the annotation mode to stave level. Otherwise your annotations would be pushed underneath one another if you reduced the space between the staves.
It is not possible to upload PDFs into the app, because the app uses a different file format. This format enables you to customise the score, eg fit the page layout to your needs or switch between different fingerings.
The Henle Library works on all iPads and tablets that run an Android version of 5.0 or higher. If we see a great demand for other systems, such as Windows tablets, we may consider programming the app for those as well.
